          Exclude Object Groups

          Exclude Object Groups

Within Backup & Recover Next are different object groups that we recommend excluding. When creating an exclusion rule, you can select to exclude these groups, rather than exclude each object individually.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Backup & Recover Data and Backup & Recover Files add-on licenses
          User Permissions Needed
To exclude object groups from a backup: Manage Backup Exclusions

We exclude History, Share, and Feed objects by default because they’re not required for a successful recovery.

          • History tables capture and store historical data for each record. Salesforce automatically creates these tables, which are often large, and they can’t be restored (read-only).
          • Share tables are recreated automatically when restoring data, unless they have manual share rules.
          • Feed tables are captured by the FeedItem. When an object is restored, its FeedItem objects also restore automatically. Restoring the feed table results in duplicate data and longer backup times.
          1. In Salesforce Backup & Recover Next, click the Settings tab.
          2. From the navigation bar on the left, click Backup Exclusions.
          3. Click Add Rule.
          4. From the Type dropdown, select Object Group.
          5. Select the object group from the Name menu.
          6. Select a reason for the exclusion.

The selected object group is added to the Backup Exclusion list.
