Customize your org’s theme with clicks, not code. To personalize your users’ Salesforce
experience, add your company’s logo, define your brand colors, and more. Most customizations are
available only for custom themes. Some customizations are available only if you built your theme
on a specific version of the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS).

Give your custom theme a name and optional description. An API name generates
automatically based on your theme name, but you can customize the API name if
needed.
Branding and Colors
Available for custom SLDS 1 and custom SLDS 2
themes.
Select your brand’s primary color for use throughout your Salesforce org. A color
palette complimentary to your brand color generates automatically. The colors in your
brand-based color palette are used throughout your Salesforce org. Due to accessibility
implications, some color customizations, like global header background color, are available only
for SLDS 1 themes.
Dark Mode (Beta)
Note Dark mode is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement
if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of
this pilot or beta service is at the Customer's sole discretion.
An inversion of the traditional light color scheme, dark mode shows light-colored text and
visual elements on a dark background. As an admin, you decide if your users can turn on dark
mode or not. If you activate dark mode for your Salesforce org, then every user sees the option
to select a color mode when they click their profile picture. The default color mode is light. A
user can select dark mode or system mode, which syncs with the light and dark settings
configured for their computer. To learn more about color mode, see Personalize Lightning Experience Display.
Available for custom SLDS 1 and custom SLDS 2
themes.
Upload images like your company logo, banners, and avatars.
Advanced Configuration
Available for custom SLDS 2
themes.
Advanced accent colors for components like containers and container content
generate automatically based on the brand color that you select. These colors meet Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for color contrast, and we strongly discourage overriding these
colors.
If you enable dark mode (beta) for your org, dark mode–specific advanced accent colors are also
generated.
