Actionable Event Orchestration Setup for Connected Assets

Actionable Event Orchestration Setup for Connected Assets

Act on telematics data from assets by designing orchestration processes that perform a set of actions for different events, such as route deviation, temperature monitoring, battery status, and sensor issues. Create actionable event types and subtypes to categorize events. Set up an actionable event orchestration to define the type of actions to be performed for events with a specific type and subtype. Design execution procedures to specify the set of actions for an actionable event orchestration. Use a context definition with an actionable event orchestration to define the event data that can be used in the execution procedure.

          • Create Actionable Event Types and Subtypes for Connected Assets
To categorize internal and external events for assets, define types and subtypes. Based on an event's type and subtype, an orchestration process is triggered to perform a particular set of actions. For example, Technical Faults can be an event type with multiple subtypes such as Sensor Failure, Battery Issue, or Inadequate Input Power.
          • Create an Actionable Event Orchestration for Connected Assets
An actionable event orchestration outlines the actions to be taken for events of a specific type and subtype. For example, some actionable event orchestrations are triggered for events of the Asset Health type and the Low Battery Level subtype. Create an actionable event orchestration for a specific event type and subtype, and specify the execution procedure to be launched to perform operations for an event. Specify a context definition and mapping to define the event data that can be used in the execution procedure.
          • Create an Execution Procedure for Actionable Events for Connected Assets
An execution procedure outlines the set of actions to be performed for an asset event. For example, an execution procedure for an Overheating Asset event can create a Case record, an Asset Milestone of type Critical Recall, and a record alert of the type Error. Use expression sets or flows as execution procedures. Using the standard and custom elements in the expression set builder, users create a series of filters, calculation conditions, aggregation conditions, and eligibility parameters to define the type of action for a specific event. Using the elements in a Flow Builder and custom Apex actions, users can create complex business rules to trigger actions.
