            Create Actionable Event Types and Subtypes for Connected Assets

            To categorize internal and external events for assets, define types and subtypes. Based on an event's type and subtype, an orchestration process is triggered to perform a particular set of actions. For example, Technical Faults can be an event type with multiple subtypes such as Sensor Failure, Battery Issue, or Inadequate Input Power.

            Available in: Automotive Cloud, Communications Cloud, Consumer Goods, Energy and Utilities Cloud, Manufacturing Cloud, and Media Cloud. View edition availability.
            User Permissions Needed
            To create event types and subtypes: Design Actionable Event Orchestration Processes

            Work with your integration admin to know more about event types that are shared by the external telematics system. When creating new event types, remember that the event type names must be the same as the event type name in the telematics system because the event type name is a key parameter that matches an event to the required orchestration procedure.

            1. Create an actionable event type.
              1. From the App Launcher, find and select Actionable Event Types.
              2. Click New.
              3. Enter a name such as Operational Safety.
                The API name is populated automatically.
              4. Save your changes.
            2. Create an actionable event subtype.
              1. Go to the Related tab of an Actionable Event Type record.
              2. From the Actionable Event Subtypes related list, select New.
              3. Enter a name such as Power Overload Detection.
                The API name is populated automatically.
              4. Save your changes.

            Create an actionable event orchestration for a specific event type and subtype combination.
