Model and store information on asset operations, operator behavior, types of faults,
and other asset data in Data Cloud by using data model objects (DMOs). The Salesforce Standard
Data Model SSOT package contains asset telematics data model objects that companies use to store
data for assets. Use the asset data for segmentation, activation, analytics, or any other
operation in Data Cloud.

After you import your asset data into Data Cloud, map the data to the required DMOs before
using it in Data Cloud. To get started with data mapping, add a connected data source to Data
Cloud. After you connect a source, Data Cloud accesses the source so that you can create
mapping sets between objects and fields within it and the Customer 360 Data Model.
Create data streams to ingest the asset telematics data from external systems, such as
telematics service companies, into Data Cloud. Data ingested by all data streams is
written to data lake objects (DLOs). You can then map the data lake objects to the
predefined data model objects to organize the unrefined data. You don’t need to store
this high-volume data in your CRM org. You can keep refreshing this data in Data Cloud
in near real-time, and create critical insights around asset operations and operator
performance. The insights help you make data-driven decisions and create personalized
and targeted customer services.
