Data Cloud Experiences for Connected Assets

Data Cloud Experiences for Connected Assets

Connect, unify, and analyze the data for your connected assets at scale by using Data Cloud. Harmonize, query, and segment asset usage and operations data in a standard data model. Ingest asset operations data from different systems such as telematics providers. Analyze multidimensional metrics for assets, such as asset lifetime value, asset case load, and critical events. Get your Data Cloud implementation up and running by installing the Asset Management Starter data kit. Visualize data that's stored in Data Cloud to improve asset uptime and identify potential faults.

You can use Data Cloud with Connected Assets for these purposes.

          • Harmonize data on asset operations and asset operator behavior by using the asset telematics data model objects. Track metrics such as asset temperature, pressure, vibrations, usage, output power, and activation status.
          • Analyze asset operator behavior by tracking metrics such as phone usage, smoking, and idling. To identify trends from this data, you can create reports, segments, and calculated insights.
          • Segment asset condition and output metrics to optimize asset maintenance schedules and maximize asset output.
          • Track metrics on asset fleet and trip metrics to make data-driven decisions on asset operations.
          • Set Up Data Cloud for Connected Assets
Complete the basic setup required to model, store, and use asset data in Data Cloud. You must set up Data Cloud, enable the required features, connect Data Cloud to your Salesforce CRM org, and configure the security permissions.
          • Ingestion of Connected Assets Data into Data Cloud
To ingest asset data into Data Cloud, connect your external data sources to Data Cloud. For example, you can bring in data from your telematics providers to proactively asset performance and analyze asset operator performance. You can also bring in data from telematics provider systems, diagnostics systems, and systems that store sensor, machine, and production line operations data.
          • Connected Assets Data Model Objects
Model and store information on asset operations, operator behavior, types of faults, and other asset data in Data Cloud by using data model objects (DMOs). The Salesforce Standard Data Model SSOT package contains asset telematics data model objects that companies use to store data for assets. Use the asset data for segmentation, activation, analytics, or any other operation in Data Cloud.
          • Asset Management Starter Data Kit for Connected Assets
Get a head start in your Data Cloud implementation for Connected Assets by installing the Asset Management Starter data kit. The data kit includes preconfigured data streams and calculated insights that help you unify and analyze data related to asset revenue and services. Install the data kit in your org, deploy the data streams, and activate the calculated insights.
          • Data Cloud Metrics Visualization for Connected Assets
Analyze patterns and identify trends on asset operations and health by helping teams visualize the asset data stored in Data Cloud. Use predefined Flexcards to configure the data source and visualization properties based on your implementation of Data Cloud and your business needs. Add the flexcards to the required record pages and specify the properties using the Lightning App Builder.
