To create, edit, and view Data Detect policies Manage user access to Data Detect feature

After you've determined that your policy is detecting sensitive data, you can designate a time frame to run it automatically. You can promptly address issues and maintain data security through scheduled scan notifications.

Select a time frame that meets your company compliance, audit schedule, or other sensitive data detection need.

          Note
Note When creating a scan policy, know your limits. These limits include no account objects in person account-enabled orgs. Users can only view and scan objects that they have access to. For selected objects, Data Detect scans ‌these fields: text, Long Text, Long Text Area, Text (Encrypted), and rich text (only plain text is scanned for sensitive information) in standard and custom objects.
          1. From the Policies tab, locate and select a policy you want to set for recurring scans.
          2. Select Edit Policy, then click Recurring Scans under Recurring Time Frame.
          3. Select one of the options:
            • Weekly (number of weeks from the selected day of the week).
            • Monthly by date (number of months from the selected date of the month).
            • Monthly by day (number of months from the selected day of the month).
            • Yearly (Every year from the selected date).
          4. The preview summarizes your selections. Use this to check your work and make and changes if necessary. Save your changes when ready.

Your recurring scan is set. You can continue to edit other parts of your policy, or close it.
