Understand Data Categories Available in Data Detect
Sensitive data categories are multilevel validations used to detect sensitive data
within the Salesforce org. Data Detect supports these types of sensitive data categories. A scan
policy searches for any categories that you select, so only use the ones that you need.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and
Developer editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect Licenses.
Data Detect requires the Salesforce Shield add-on subscription.
Banking
IBAN number: International Bank Account Number used for cross-border transactions
Countries
Australian Tax File Number (TFN): Unique identifier issued to Australian taxpayers
Brazil CPF number: Individual taxpayer identification number in Brazil
Canada Social Insurance number: Number issued to Canadian residents for work and tax
purposes
France INSEE number: The national identification number used for French citizens
India Aadhaar: A 12-digit unique identity number for Indian residents
Japan My Number: Japan’s national identification number for social security and tax
purposes
Korea Resident Registration number: Personal identification number in South Korea.
Locale-specific: includes birthdate and region code.
Netherlands BSN: Citizen service number used in the Netherlands for identification
Singaporean National Registration number: National Registration Identity Card number used in
Singapore. Format-specific: alphanumeric, starting with S/T/F/G.
UK National Insurance number: A unique number issued to UK residents for Social Security
purposes. Format-specific: two letters, six digits, one letter.
United States
Social Security number (SSN): A unique nine-digit number issued to US citizens for tax and
benefits
US Address: Street addresses
General
AWS key: API key used for accessing Amazon Web service (AWS) services. Format-specific,
starts with AKIA.
Credit card: Credit, or debit, card numbers. Format-specific with Luhn algorithm
validation
Email address: Email address matching
IP address: Network address of devices (IPv4 or IPv6)
Phone number: Contact number, including international formats. Doesn’t match 1-800 or
toll-free numbers
URL: The address of a web page or website on the internet
Salesforce UserID: Unique identifier for Salesforce users
Salesforce SessionID: Authentication token for Salesforce sessions
