Stop a Running Scan

Stop a scan before it finishes to run a different scan or edit the policy settings and run the updated scan policy.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect Licenses.
User Permissions Needed
To stop a running scan Manage user access to Data Detect feature
  1. Open the policy of the currently running scan.
  2. From the Scan Status card, click Stop Scan.
  3. Click Stop Scan.

The scan stops. This process takes a few minutes and running another scan queues it to run when the scan stops completely. Results of the objects scanned before the scan stopped are available from the Job Sessions page.
