          Enable an OAuth Plugin

          Enable an OAuth Plugin

In an external client app, configurations are divided between settings and policies for each plugin. To add an external client app plugin, enable the plugin and configure the settings.

This section describes an OAuth plugin to illustrate examples.

          Important
Important Any change a developer makes to the OAuth settings takes effect immediately and is distributed globally within 15 minutes.

The policies tab contains all of the fields that an org admin uses to configure the external client app for their unique situation. These policies are controlled by this admin whether an external client app is intended for use on the org where it was created or it is developed, packaged, and distributed to another org. Fields like session timeout, start URL, and permission sets are determined by the admin’s use case and are under their control.

The settings tab contains fields that define the structure of an external client app. This is where the basic information is configured and where plugins are enabled and configured.
