          Marketing Cloud Engagement Business Unit Connection

          Marketing managers can design launch emails for pricing promotions. After a pricing promotion is activated, the promotion’s launch email is sent to the promotion’s eligible audience by using a journey in Marketing Cloud Engagement. To send promotion launch emails by using journeys, connect Global Promotions Management with Engagement business units. Complete the required setup tasks in your Engagement business units and Global Promotions Management to set up the connection.

          Tip
          Tip If marketing managers plan to create only loyalty promotions, you don't need to connect Engagement business units with Global Promotions Management. Marketing managers can't design launch emails for loyalty promotions.
          • Add a Send Classification in Marketing Cloud Engagement Business Unit for Promotion Launch Emails
            The journeys that are created in connected Marketing Cloud Engagement business units for active pricing promotions send the promotion launch email to the promotion’s eligible customers. To uniquely classify emails sent for promotions, create Global Promotions Management-specific send classifications in the business unit that you want to connect with Global Promotions Management.
          • Create a Package to Connect Marketing Cloud Engagement Business Unit to Global Promotions Management
            Global Promotions Management and Marketing Cloud Engagement are two different instances. To connect an Engagement business unit with Global Promotions Management, create a package in the business unit that you want to connect. The package consists of the scope of the connection and the API integration details required to connect Global Promotions Management with the business unit.
          • Connect Global Promotions Management with Marketing Cloud Engagement Business Unit
            After you create a send classification and a package in your Marketing Cloud Engagement business unit to connect Global Promotions Management with the business unit, use the send classification and package details to connect Global Promotions Management and the business unit in the Global Promotions Management org.
          • Assign Permission Set to Activate Promotions
            A permission set named Marketing Cloud Authorization is created when you connect Global Promotions Management with a Marketing Cloud Engagement business unit. Users with this permission set can activate pricing promotions and launch the automated process to create journeys in the connected Engagement business unit for the activated promotion. Assign the authorization permission set to marketing managers or other users who activate promotions.
