Enter your email address instead of your username to access your Salesforce user
account. If you have more than one user account, each is shown so that you can choose the
account that you want to log in to and complete the authentication process.

Each Salesforce user account includes a valid username as well as an active email address.
Usernames must be formatted to look like an email address, so some users have a username
that’s identical to their email address and some don’t. Because you know your email address
and Salesforce requires you to add it to your account, why not use that to log in instead of a
potentially random username?
Note You can log in with your email address only if no one else has access to the email
account. If you use a shared email address or you can’t receive messages sent to your email
address, you must continue to log in using your username.
When you click Log In with Email and enter your email address, Salesforce automatically
detects your authentication method. If you have only one auth provider, it redirects you to
the corresponding login experience. If you have more options, Salesforce displays these
options for you to choose.
If you use single sign-on (SSO), the service sends you to your identity provider to complete
the login process.
To access the Log In with Email page, click Log In with Email on
login.salesforce.com. If you always log in with your email, continue to do so using
welcome.salesforce.com or your normal login method.
Locate Your Email Address and Username Every user account has both an email address and a username that’s formatted to look like an email address. It can be confusing to keep track of these values, but you can look them up in your account settings.
Add an Email Address When you log in with your email address again, the page lists previous email addresses that you signed in with. You can choose an email address from the list or log in with a different email address.
