          Manage External Client Apps

          Manage External Client Apps

After creating an external client app and configuring its distribution state, define its specific characteristics.

Enable plugins, monitor usage, work with custom attributes, and more.

          • Configure OAuth Policies
OAuth policies are an important part of the external client app OAuth plugin that are generated with default values when an external client app is saved or during deployment to a subscriber org. Admins configure the OAuth policies file for their specific use case.
          • Manage External Client App OAuth Usage
The External Client Apps OAuth Usage page displays information about external client apps for the current org, all users for a specific external client app, and all tokens for a specific user. These apps have an active access or refresh token. From this page, you can revoke a specific token, all tokens for a user of a specific external client app, or all tokens of a specific external client app.
          • Manage the Start URL for External Client Apps
A start URL defines the page where users end up when they run an external client app. The admin of an external client app sets an OAuth-specific start URL or a custom start URL from the Policies tab of the External Client App Manager.
          • Configure Custom Scopes for External Client Apps
Personalize your external client apps by using OAuth custom scopes. Like with connected apps, OAuth custom scopes define the permissions of an external client app to access protected resources hosted by an external entity. External client apps support packaging these custom scopes for distribution.
          • Preauthorize User App Access Through External Client App Policies
Configure who can use your app by defining preauthorized users. When users who are preauthorized access the app, they can bypass the Allow or Deny permission window that pops up.
          • Configure an External Client App to Show in the App Launcher
To configure your external client app so that it shows up in App Launcher, mark it as visible in the App Menu page in Setup.
          • Delete an External Client App
Delete the external client app from the org where it was created. Deleting an external client app breaks all integrations that use that app.
