          Mobile Device Tracking

          Mobile Device Tracking

Mobile Device Tracking gives you greater control over your data security. You can track and monitor which mobile devices access your Salesforce org. You can revoke access from lost and stolen devices. And you can build processes and policies to define how devices access your org, such as requiring an approval request from the device before authorizing a login.

          Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          User Permissions Needed
To view user devices that access Salesforce: View Devices
To edit user devices: Manage Devices
          Note
Note Device Management was beta in Spring ’20 and Summer ’20. Mobile Device Tracking, its replacement, became generally available in Winter ’21. It has significant differences from Device Management. To use Mobile Device Tracking, contact Salesforce Customer Support.

Mobile Device Tracking can be used with devices attempting to log in to your org using a mobile Salesforce app. Mobile Device Tracking doesn’t work with logins through browsers.

          Note
Note Mobile device tracking, including the Mobile Publisher mysalesforce app, isn’t supported.

Configure Mobile Device Tracking with API or Apex calls. You can access the UserDevice and UserDeviceApplication sObjects using API and Apex calls, but there isn’t a native UI for viewing and managing devices. Instead, use Visualforce with Mobile Device Tracking to create a basic UI for viewing and managing devices.
