Turn Off Encryption For Standard and Custom Fields

restored.

After you submit a request to turn off Field-Level Encryption for a field, Salesforce executes
the decryption process in the background. You’re notified via email when the process completes,
or if errors prevent certain field values from being decrypted.
Decryption errors are most common for fields included in standard or custom indexes, as well
as fields that use case-insensitive deterministic encryption. If some field values aren’t
decrypted, or if you lose access to certain field data after decryption, contact Salesforce
Customer Support for assistance.
Automatic decryption takes longer when you disable encryption on fields encrypted with a key
that’s been archived.
Long text area and rich text area field types can’t be automatically decrypted. If you decrypt
data encrypted with a destroyed key, that data can’t be mass-decrypted.
To turn off encryption for a field:
From the App Launcher, find and select Shield.
Go to the Platform Encryption tab, and then click
Field-Level Encryption.
Under Fields, find the field that you want to change, and then click the dropdown
menu.
Click Disable Encryption.
When prompted, confirm the change.
