Encryption Monitoring And Backup
Along with the many encryption options that we provide with Shield Platform Encryption, we also make it easy to review the state of your encryption landscape. We also provide a facility to bulk encrypt data when you start using a new encryption feature, or after you have rotated an encryption key.
The Encryption Statistics page is a central tool for managing Shield Platform Encryption. It provides a comprehensive overview of your encrypted data, which helps you with key rotation and management tasks. You can use the page to see how much of your data is encrypted by the active key, which is crucial for determining if a data synchronization is needed. This page presents data in three main views: summary cards for bulk-encrypted databases like Database Encryption, a field-level encryption summary that shows statistics for individual objects, and an encryption detail view that provides granular information on fields and historical data.
Background Encryption Service helps keep your data aligned with the most recent encryption policies and keys. You can perform self-service synchronization for most standard and custom fields, the Attachment—Content Body field, and changes to field history and feed tracking directly from the Encryption Statistics and Data Sync page in Setup. This process can be run once every seven days and is ideal for keeping data encrypted with the most up-to-date key material. However, if your data requires synchronization for types not supported by the self-service tool, you must contact Salesforce Customer Support for assistance.
