User Email Address Verification

User Email Address Verification

Users can’t send outgoing email from Salesforce until their Salesforce email address and return email address are verified. Learn how to identify users with unverified email addresses and help them complete this required step.

  • Manage User Email Address Verification
Users can’t send outgoing email from Salesforce until their Salesforce email address and return email address are verified. This requirement improves security in Salesforce and reduces the risk of email spoofing and spam. Identify users with unverified email addresses or return email addresses. Then learn how to initiate the verification process.
  • Verify Email Addresses with Async Email
Send email messages to internal and external users to ensure they’re registered with a valid email address that they own. Async email messages contain a verification link (URL). Users simply click the link to verify their email address. After verifying their email address, external users can log in with one-time password (OTP) via email (passwordless login).
  • Use a Verified Domain for User-Level Email Verification
If a trusted integration or admin manages your users’ email addresses in Salesforce, specify which domains require address verification. For each authorized email domain, you can require email address verification only when users change their email address, or disable address verification entirely. Or only require address verification for an email address change when the domain has an active DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) key.
