          Set Up Agentforce and Generative AI for Salesforce Suites

          Before you can use AI to surface insights or save time on labor-intensive tasks, you must turn on Agentforce and generative AI. From there, customers with an existing Salesforce org must add the AI Summary tool to your record pages.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Free Suite, Starter Suite, and Pro Suite Editions.
          User Permissions Needed
          To turn on Agentforce and generative AI, and add the AI Summary tool to your record pages: Admin user profile

          When you turn on Agentforce and generative AI, we turn on:

          • Data Cloud Developer Edition.

          • EinsteinGPTPlatformEnabled org preference.

          • EinsteinGPTSalesEmailsPref org preference.

          • Required AI licenses (PSLs) and permission sets for the General Users and Admin user profiles.

            For example, you need the EinsteinGPTSalesSummariesPsl and the EinsteinGPTSalesSummaries permission set.

          • Agentforce agent.

          • Draft with AI (generative AI).

          • AI Summary (generative AI).

            Established customers with an existing Salesforce org must add the AI Summary tool to your record pages.

          Note If you’ve created a custom user profile, you must add the required AI licenses (PSLs) and permission sets to the profile. For more information, see:

          Turn on Agentforce and Generative AI (Starter and Pro Suites)

          Turn on Agentforce and generative AI in Starter and Pro Suites.

          1. From the home page, select the Agentforce logo in the top right to open the Agentforce panel.
          2. From the Agentforce panel, carefully read the terms and conditions, then click Agree and Enable. Setup can take a while. You can navigate away from the setup window during this time.
          3. When Agentforce is ready, click the Refresh button in the Agentforce panel.

          Turn on Generative AI (Free Suite)

          Turn on generative AI in Free Suite.

          1. There are two ways that you can reach the Generative AI setup window.
            1. (Option 1) From the Drive productivity and insights with trusted AI banner, select the Turn on AI button to open the Generative AI window.
            2. (Option 2) From the home page, select the Get more done with AI spotlight card to open the Generative AI window.
          2. From the Generative AI window, carefully read the terms and conditions, then click Agree and Enable. Setup can take a while. You can navigate away from the setup window during this time.

          Add AI Summary Tool to Your Record Pages

          Established customers that already have an existing Salesforce org must add the AI Summary tool to your record pages.

          1. From the home page, click the Gear icon (Quick Settings) in the top-right corner.
          2. Select Open Advanced Setup.
          3. In the Quick Find box, search for “Lightning app” and select Lightning App Builder.
          4. Locate and select the specific record page you want to edit (for example, Account Record page).
          5. Select the Edit button within the Lightning page detail.
          6. From the Components pane (left pane), add the AI Summary component by dragging it onto the Lightning page detail.
          7. In the Properties pane (right pane), select the prompt templates you want to show.
          8. Save your changes, and then activate the page.
