Disable standard email notification for approval process ?

When an approval process assigns an approval request to a user, Salesforce automatically sends the user an approval request email. When no email template is specified, a standard "out of the box" emails is sent. How can I stop it?


It is not possible to disable the standard email at this stage.

Nevertheless, on the user record, there is a field called "Receive Approval Request Emails". If you changed this to "never" the user will not receive emails from approval process. Then you would need to generate the emails from a workflow rule.
