LinkedIn for Social Accounts, Contacts and Leads (beta) feature retirement

With the Winter ‘16 release, the LinkedIn social network will be removed from Social Contacts, Accounts and Leads. Twitter, Facebook, Klout and YouTube will continue to be available for Social Contacts, Accounts and Leads.


What will happen after the EOL/EOS date passes?

LinkedIn will no longer be accessible as part of the Social Accounts, Contacts, and Leads feature within the Salesforce application. Users will not be able to log into LinkedIn, see any LinkedIn information, or view profile information or images from LinkedIn in Salesforce. All data from LinkedIn, including profile photos, current titles and companies, and locations will be removed from Salesforce.


What action must I take?

No action is required.  However, if contact or lead records use the LinkedIn profile image as the profile image in Salesforce, you may select a Twitter or Facebook profile image to use instead.


What is the recommended replacement or workaround?

We suggest customers review the LinkedIn integration apps available via AppExchange.
