Records assigned through Omni-Channel don't trigger workflow rules

Description When records are assigned to your users through Omni-Channel and you have workflow rules to update records these workflow rules will not fire. However after the record has been assigned and you edit the record again the workflow rules will fire as expected.
Resolution This is currently working as designed. When the feature was built they wanted to make sure that our customers didn't run into any recursive loops from workflow rules or apex triggers firing.
