Salesforce retired Skype for Salesforce following the Winter ’21 (October 2020) release. The feature’s chat functionality and the ability to view colleagues' availability within Salesforce are unavailable.
Your data, such as conversation history, will still be available on Skype for Business. Furthermore, you will continue to have access to any chat conversations that were previously saved as Notes in Salesforce.
Why did Salesforce make this change?
You may be wondering why we are retiring Skype for Salesforce. This feature was enabled in part through Skype for Business. Since Microsoft has announced the retirement of Skype for Business Online Services (which we are relying on), we have decided to retire this feature.
What did you recommend?
We know that retiring a feature you’ve been using can be disruptive. We encourage you to explore solutions on the AppExchange. Please review your business needs and decide on the best product for your transition.
If you have more questions, open a case with support via Salesforce Help or contact your Salesforce account team. To view all current and past retirements, see Salesforce Product & Feature Retirements.
