Import My Accounts and Contacts Retirement

公開日: Apr 12, 2025
説明

What changed?
The Import My Accounts and Contacts wizard is no longer accessible with the Winter '17 release in My Settings, Setup Assistant, or Setup. The Data Import Wizard and Data Loader are the only supported data import tools.

Why did we retire this feature?
Salesforce has retired the Import My Accounts and Contacts wizard to focus on providing the best experience with the unified Data Import Wizard.

What happened after the Winter ‘17 release?
All the existing access points to the Import My Accounts and Contacts wizard from Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience are updated to direct you to the Data Import Wizard.

For more details on the access point updates, see the information below:

What was the difference between the legacy product and the replacement?
The unified Data Import Wizard offers the same functionality as the Import My Accounts and Contacts wizard. In addition, you can import data to both features using the same process: uploading a CSV file to Salesforce. The key differences between the features are the user interfaces and the ability of the Import My Accounts and Contacts wizard to upload data from additional sources.

In particular, you can leverage auto-mapping for Outlook, LinkedIn, and Act! directly from the wizard. With the unified Data Import Wizard, you must continue to upload all data using a CSV file. For more details, see Import Data with the Data Import Wizard in Salesforce Help

You can also consider using Data Loader, an installed client application that you can download to your desktops. Data Loader lets you bulk import or export account and contact data. See  Deciding on a Method of Importing Data in Salesforce Help for more details.

What action did I need to take?
We encouraged you and your users to utilize the unified Data Import Wizard and share your ideas for improvements via the IdeaExchange. In addition, Salesforce recommends joining the Data Import Success Community to engage with other customers and the Product Management team on this feature.
