Issue:
Users may encounter an error in the Side Panel when adding Google Calendar events to Salesforce records using the Gmail Integration. 

The error message

To relate events to Salesforce records, ask your admin to enable the field-level security for the IsAllDayEvent field.


Cause:
  • The Edit permission for the 'All-Day Event' field is not enabled.
  • The Edit Events perm is not enabled for the User profile.
     
Note: The above error can also happen in Outlook Integration.

Enable Users to edit 'All-Day Event' field in Classic:

  1. Click on Setup | Customize | Activities.
  2. Click on Event Fields.
  3. On the right side, click on All-Day Event.
  4. Click on Set Field-Level Security button on top.
  5. Check the box under Visible for your profile(s).
  6. Click on Save.
 

Enable Users to edit 'All-Day Event' field in Lightning:

  1. Click on the gear icon on the top right corner.
  2. Click on Setup.
  3. In the Quick Find box, enter Object Manager and click on the link in the search results.
  4. Click on the Event object link.
  5. Click on Fields & Relationships.
  6. Click on All-Day Event.
  7. Click on the Set Field-Level Security button.
  8. Check the box under Visible for your profile(s).
  9. Click on Save.

 

Enable 'Edit Events' permission on the User profile:

  1. Click on the gear icon on the top right corner.
  2. Click on the Quick Find box, enter Profile and click on the Profile link in the search results.
  3. Select the affected User profile.
  4. Depending on the UI you may need to click on the Edit first and check the box for the Edit Events or after you click on the Profile link, scroll down and click on the System Permission link.
  5. Click on Edit and check the box for Edit Events. 
  6. Click on Save.
