Docusign for CPQ Retirement

Description

Salesforce is no longer allowing usage of the Docusign for the CPQ managed package after January 31, 2022. The package no longer functions, and one of the listed alternatives must be deployed.  This was an extension of the October 31, 2021, retirement date announced in December 2020.  

If your organization currently has this package installed, we wanted to tell you how this package impacts you and what your options are. DocuSign offers a replacement created for CPQ, which led us to the decision.

Resolution

What action did I need to take?

Salesforce recommends that you download one of the new DocuSign packages listed previously that are developed specifically for CPQ. If you're replacing eSignature for CPQ, install the updated version that is DocuSign eSignature for Salesforce. The DocuSign Gen for Salesforce package provides additional document generation functionality for creating custom document templates.

We recommend moving one of the following solutions:

  1. If you’re generating quotes using Salesforce CPQ built-in Quote Templates: use the DFS and DAL: Migrate from Legacy eSignature for Salesforce to the new eSignature for Salesforce Package migration documentation to move to the new version of DocuSign eSignature in the DocuSign Apps Launcher package, available here on the AppExchange.

  2. If you’re using DocuSign Gen for Salesforce to generate quote documents: use eSignature for Salesforce, available here on the AppExchange.

  3. If you’re using another quote generation solution: contact the quote generation vendor for options.

Note: If using option 1 or 2, please contact Docusign Support for assistance as these packages are not supported by Salesforce Support.


How can I identify users that were impacted?

Users can be identified in Setup, under Installed Packages. Orgs that have the package “DocuSign for Salesforce CPQ” by the publisher “Steelbrick CPQ DocuSign” installed will be affected.
