About the Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer Certification

The Salesforce Omnistudio Developer certification is intended for individuals who have knowledge, skills, and experience developing cloud applications using Omnistudio declarative development tools.

The Certified Omnistudio Developer is able to design and configure applications using Omnistudio tools, including Flexcards, Omniscripts, Integration Procedures, Omnistudio Data Mappers, Expression Sets and Decision Matrices, and Industry Consoles.

 

Audience Description: Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer

The Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer candidate is interested in demonstrating their knowledge and skills in configuring applications using Omnistudio tools. 


The Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer candidate ideally has one year of developer experience plus 3-6 months of design, implementation, and deployment experience working with Omnistudio tools in one or more of the roles below.

  • Salesforce Platform Developer
  • Salesforce App Builder
  • Solution Architect
  • Technical Architect
  • UI Developer


Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer candidates should have the ability to take the defined business requirements and configure them into declarative technical solutions. This candidate should be able to configure a business process using the Omnistudio tool set with conditional navigation that reads and writes data to and from Salesforce and an external data source using JSON and REST services. The candidate should also be familiar with the concepts of an interactive Web Application consisting of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

The Omnistudio Developer candidate has the experience, skills, and knowledge outlined below. 

  • Familiarity with Salesforce development lifecycle from development to testing, and have knowledge of the available environments.
  • Migrate components and configuration using the IDX tool.
  • Capable of using Omnistudio tools to build the business processes with out of the box configuration.
  • Knows how to use pre-configured script elements from Industry Process Library (IPL).
  • Can create test data to validate the component functionality or behavior.
  • Knows when to use declarative vs. programmatic methods.
  • Can use Omnistudio tools to build the business processes with customization.
  • Expand and build on the Industry Process Library (IPL) based on specific business requirements.
  • Effectively use debugging tools within Omnistudio to troubleshoot problems.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of an interactive Web Application consisting of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • The Omnistudio Developer candidate is not expected to perform browser-based console log debugging; have experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC), APEX, or Angular development; perform performance and scalability turning; integrate Omnistudio components with other industry products; do installation or post-installation configuration; or administer or build industry specific entities such as products, prices, or rules.

This exam guide is designed to help you prepare for the Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer Exam.   • Content: 60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions and up to five unscored questions*
  • Time allotted to complete the exam: 105 minutes
  • Passing score: 67%
  • Version: Exam questions align to the Summer '22 release
  • Registration fee: US$200, JPY 30,000, plus applicable taxes as required per local law
  • Retake fee: $100, JPY 30,000, plus applicable taxes as required per local law
  • Delivery options: Proctored exam delivered onsite at a testing center or in an online environment; find more information on scheduling an exam here.
  • References: No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam.
  • Prerequisite: None

This exam may contain up to five additional unscored questions to gather performance data. Unscored questions are randomly integrated and have no impact on your final exam result.

 

Exam Outline

The Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer Exam measures a candidate’s knowledge and skills related to the following objectives.

Flexcards: 15%
  • Given a set of requirements, determine appropriate card style, data sources, fields, and actions to configure on cards and card states.
  • Apply concepts required to build the JSON data structure that supports Flexcards framework.
  • Given a set of functional requirements, match these requirements to the Flexcards framework functionality.


Omniscripts: 20%
  • Given a use case, compare and contrast various elements and their configuration that will meet the requirements with an Omniscript.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the JSON data structure that supports Omniscript.
  • Given a set of functional requirements, select the Omniscript elements and common properties to meet the requirements.


Integration Procedures: 17%
  • Given a use case, compare and contrast various elements and their configuration that will meet the requirements with an Integration Procedure.
  • Given a set of functional requirements, select the Integration Procedure elements and common properties to meet the requirements.
 
Omnistudio Data Mappers: 20%
  • Identify which Omnistudio Data Mapper to use to meet a requirement.
  • In a given use case, determine which Omnistudio Data Mapper Extract functionality is needed.
  • In a given use case, determine which Omnistudio Data Mapper Load functionality is needed.
  • In a given use case, determine which Omnistudio Data Mapper Transform functionality is needed.
  • In a given use case, determine which Omnistudio Data Mapper Turbo Extract functionality is needed.
 
Expression Sets & Decision Matrices: 8%
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the mechanics of a Decision Matrix.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the mechanics of an Expression Set.
 
Integrated Troubleshooting and Deployment: 20%
  • Given a scenario, determine the cause for an error in Omnistudio tools.
  • Given a customer issue, determine the breakdown location in the data flow.
