About the Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect Exam

The Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect Exam is intended for individuals who have knowledge, skills, and experience architecting and driving multi-cloud B2B solutions that deliver business value for the customer. Designing, planning, and delivering business value requires specific and related knowledge across select products, including but not limited to B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Revenue Cloud, Salesforce Field Service, Einstein Automate, Experience Cloud, Tableau CRM, and MuleSoft to accomplish four outcomes that serve as the foundation for multi-cloud experiences.

  • Model customers through their businesses, subsidiaries, and collective identities.
  • Recognize customers as a single unified customer view (that is, identify a single customer across all records).
  • Drive transactional data capabilities (sales, service, marketing, commerce) across a multi-cloud customer experience.
  • Maintain transactional data consistency and cardinality across a multi-cloud customer experience while maintaining a unified customer view.

This exam validates that a Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect can provide guidance, as well as combine guidance from different enterprise architecture viewpoints, to create solutions that generate strategic business value for customers, including:

  • Business: Demonstrate business leadership by guiding companies on a multi-cloud solution journey emphasizing differentiating customer experiences.
  • Delivery: Drive successful outcomes by advocating for multi-cloud implementation considerations and best practices based on use-case delivery knowledge that spans the Salesforce Customer 360 Vision and Platform.
  • Technical: Provide technical leadership by selecting the proper multi-cloud product features that best align with a company’s vision and business value goals.

 

Audience Description: Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect

The Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect generally has 4–5 years of experience as a Solution Architect and has experience with the following topics with the above-mentioned Salesforce products.

  • Bridging business needs and technical implementations to realize business value for the customer
  • Overseeing and steering requirements-gathering conversations
  • Identifying the role of third-party systems within a customer’s processes and data needs
  • Translating solution architecture technical details to a business audience
  • Supporting the overall vision for business solution(s)
  • Informing customers and implementation teams about best practices and considerations
  • Driving customer experience solutions via prioritized use cases and confirmed customer success criteria
  • Creating a common language describing multi-cloud use cases and their successful implementation
  • Designing end-state solution architectures while providing the customer options and a phased approach to reach that end-state
  • Guiding implementation teams through multi-cloud integration best practices and testing scenarios
  • Layering appropriate technology over the designed architecture
  • Participating in the delivery of the architected solution in order to oversee the implementation and revise or redirect plans as needed

About the Exam

Here are details about the Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect Exam.

  • Content: 60 multiple-choice/multiple-select questions and up to five unscored questions
  • Time allotted to complete the exam: 120 minutes
  • Passing score: 58%
  • Version: Exam questions align to the Summer '22 release
  • Registration fee: US$400, plus applicable taxes as required per local law
  • Retake fee: US$200, plus applicable taxes as required per local law
  • Delivery options: Proctored exam delivered onsite at a testing center or in an online proctored environment; find more information on scheduling an exam here.
  • References: No hard copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam.
  • Prerequisite: Salesforce Certified Application Architect Certification
    • Encompasses the following prerequisites:
      • Platform App Builder
      • Platform Developer I
      • Data Architect
      • Sharing and Visibility Architect

This exam may contain up to five additional unscored questions to gather performance data. Unscored questions are randomly integrated and have no impact on your final exam result.

 

Exam Outline

The Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect Exam measures a candidate’s knowledge and skills related to the following objectives. A candidate should have hands-on experience with B2B Commerce, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Revenue Cloud, Salesforce Field Service, Einstein Automate, Experience Cloud, Tableau CRM, and MuleSoft, and should be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in each of the areas below.

Discovery and Customer Success: 25%
  • Given a scenario in which a customer wants a B2B multi-cloud solution, document and articulate the business needs, value, and vision of the customer to support their desired business outcomes.
  • Given the identified business needs, vision, and current customer landscape, define the future blueprint architecture of a B2B multi-cloud Salesforce solution in order to define the product roadmap.
  • Given that a future blueprint architecture has been agreed upon, define the incremental steps necessary to reach the recommended future end state that supports business outcomes.

Data Governance and Integration: 26%
  • Given a complex data architecture, define the data flows across systems, the methods and techniques to connect systems, and the relationship each system has to the data it contains.
  • Given the current architecture, define the strategy to migrate data, and synchronize data across systems to support a multi-cloud B2B solution.
  • Given existing customer personas and the defined business requirements, design and map a sharing and visibility model for a B2B multi-cloud Salesforce solution.
  • Given customer expectations around data volumes, provide governance to satisfy business requirements.

Design: 29%
  • Given information gathered during discovery, define the functional and technical solution, in line with Salesforce standards, keeping the business value and objectives in mind.
  • Given a set of business requirements, recommend an appropriate Salesforce multi-cloud or AppExchange solution.
  • Given a scenario, identify design options and their associated risks, assess their level of criticality, and recommend the solution that most accurately meets the specified functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Given a scenario in which the design document is being shared, facilitate final acceptance from stakeholders by ensuring any concerns raised are adequately addressed.
  • Given a defined future state B2B multi-cloud solution architecture alongside business requirements, choose the preferred method for integrating data across different clouds.

Delivery: 12%
  • When planning a B2B multi-cloud set of orgs and environments, define appropriate strategies that balance resources and effort to deliver an effective and efficient delivery method.
  • When planning the steps involved in delivering a customer's business outcomes, ensure that there is a clear understanding of business requirements through to the delivered configuration.
  • Given a scenario in which the designed solution is being implemented, provide the appropriate display of the capabilities of that solution to stakeholders (demos) that demonstrate continued alignment with the desired business outcomes and priorities.

Operationalize the Solution: 8%
  • Given that a solution has been implemented, ensure that stakeholders are appropriately enabled to manage the solution moving forward (for example, updating documentation, center of excellence, training).
  • Given a scenario in which a B2B multi-cloud solution has been implemented, determine how to further improve the solution to ensure business benefits are continuously realized.
  • Determine how to facilitate adoption in order for the business to benefit from a B2B multi-cloud solution.
