Why This Happens
The Today's Events component depends on the Event Compact Page Layout to determine which fields are available for display. If the Start field is not part of this layout, the component cannot access the event's scheduled start time.
Symptoms
As a result of the missing Start field:
Note: This issue is not caused by incorrect event data, but rather by missing field configuration in the compact layout used by the component.
The Today's Events component on the Salesforce Home page relies on the Event Compact Page Layout to retrieve field data, including the event's Start time. Adding the Start field to the Event Compact Layout in Salesforce Setup resolves the incorrect time display and restores the "Now" indicator for in-progress events.
After saving: Refresh the Home page to confirm the Today's Events component now displays accurate start times and correctly identifies ongoing events with the "Now" indicator.
