          Tips on Search Errors

Search sometimes experiences errors because of a network connection, complex searches, index problems, or other reasons. You can still use search when the system is down but with some limitations. Search is usually restored in a few hours, but it can take longer. Keep some guidelines in mind when using search with errors.

If you’re experiencing problems, search by record name only, and use a single word as your search term. For example, use the account name as your search term when searching for an account.

When using search with errors, keep these considerations in mind.

          • Search doesn’t match within descriptions or longer text fields.
          • Only the first word in your search term is matched.
          • Search results aren’t sorted by relevance.
          • Spell-check, type-ahead suggestions, complex searches using operators, and stemmed searches aren’t available. Stemmed search matches search terms with similar words. For example, a stemmed search for “playing” also finds “play” and “played.” An unstemmed search only finds “playing.”
