Billing Considerations for Search Answers
AI-Generated Search Answers from Data Cloud sources creates a hybrid search index for source data model objects (DMOs) and uses generative AI to respond to user questions. Using Data Cloud and generative AI for Search Answers impacts credit consumption and has billing implications.
Billable Usage Types for Search Answers
| Card | Usage Type | Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data Services | Unstructured Data Processed | Usage is calculated based on the number of records in all underlying objects used in creating the Calculated Insight each time it runs. | In Data Cloud, unstructured data may be chunked and vectorized using an embedding model. The cost of creating a search index remains the same for vector search and hybrid search. |
| Data Services | Data Queries | Usage is calculated based on the number of records processed. The count of records processed depends on the structure of a query as well as other related factors such as the total number of records in the objects being queried. |
For hybrid search queries against unstructured data, the number of vectors and keyword records in the search index are counted. In a typical search index, the number of keyword records is the same as the number of vectors. |
| Data Storage Allocation | Storage Beyond Allocation | Usage is calculated based on the amount of storage used above the amount allocated. | When a hybrid search index is created using unstructured data, the chunk DMO and the index DMO that are generated are counted towards storage. |
| Einstein Requests | Einstein Requests | Einstein Requests is a usage metric for generative AI. The use of generative AI capabilities, in either a production or sandbox environment, consumes Einstein Requests and possibly Data Cloud credits. To learn more, see Data Cloud Billable Usage Types. API calls to the LLM gateway use Einstein Requests. For each API call to the LLM gateway, the number of Einstein Requests used depends on the API call size factor and the LLM usage type multiplier. To learn more, see the Rate Card for Einstein Requests. Einstein Requests are available in:
