View default searchable fields. You can add and remove fields in the search index. For
example, if you never want to include certain custom fields in search, remove those fields.
Removed fields don’t appear in search results and aren’t used to match results. You can’t remove
standard fields.

To use Search Manager:
Customize Application AND View Setup
If a field contains sensitive information and you couldn’t apply field-level security to it,
remove the field from the index. Unprotected fields don’t have a in the Field-Level Security
column. You can add fields back later.
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Search Manager, and
then select Index Management.
In the Salesforce Objects list, select the object that has the fields that you want to
add or remove.
From the dropdown next to the field, select Remove from search index
or Add to search index.
Click Confirm.
Save your changes.
Your changes can take a few hours. You can modify a field after it’s updated.
