In your Salesforce org, users search for different purposes in each search channel. For example,
your customers and partners search in Experience Cloud sites to find information, while service
agents in the Knowledge console search the internal knowledge base to find articles. Create
separate configurations for each search channel.
Customize Global Search for Your Users Optimize global search for each user profile’s needs and help them find relevant results quickly. For example, your sales agents search for customer contacts and opportunities, while marketing agents primarily search for campaigns and leads. Customize search differently for these two user profiles.
Customize Search in Experience Cloud Sites Your partners, employees, and customers in Experience Cloud sites have different needs when searching for information. Sites also address specific use cases, including portals, help forums, and support communities. Create a search configuration with the needs of a site in mind. Choose which objects and fields are available to search, and filter out content they don’t need.
Customize Search for Service Agents Improve search efficiency and help agents find the relevant information in your knowledge base faster. For example, optimize the search for agents in a specific product area and apply it to the Knowledge component for that product area. Choose which fields are available to search, and filter out results they don’t need.
