Connect to Data Outside of Salesforce

Connect to Data Outside of Salesforce

Create a remote connection to sync external data with CRM Analytics. For each connector, we provide information on how to create the connection, configure its properties, and track important considerations.

          Required Editions

          Important
Important These connectors sync data from cloud-based systems without a firewall. You can’t use them to sync data from an on-premises system. Nor can you use them to sync data from cloud-based systems protected by a cloud firewall.
          Note
Note Datasets created by these connectors are deleted automatically after no less than 30 days. If any other features depend on these datasets, schedule the connections to update at least every 30 days.
Available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.
Available with CRM Analytics, which is available for an extra cost in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions. Also available in Developer Edition.

          • Salesforce Connectors
Use these connectors to sync your data in systems that are part of the Salesforce ecosystem, including external Salesforce orgs, to CRM Analytics.
          • Application Connectors
Use these connectors to sync data from your external applications to CRM Analytics.
          • Database Connectors
Use these connectors to sync data from your external database services to CRM Analytics.
          • Object Store and No SQL Connectors
Use these connectors to sync data from your object store and non-SQL services to CRM Analytics.
          • Pilot and Beta Connectors
You can use these connectors as a pilot or beta feature to sync external data with CRM Analytics. Before choosing a connector, review its pilot or beta instructions.
          • Output Connectors
Use output connectors to push data from CRM Analytics to the remote system. Output connectors can push as part of a data prep output node, and some can also push out unprepared data using sync.
          • Private Connectors
Use private connectors to push and pull data between CRM Analytics and external services AWS using a Virtual Private Connection (VPC). Supported services include Snowflake and Amazon S3. To use private input and output connectors you must configure a network connection, external credential, and named credential. These credentials provide the security and privacy required for the private connection.
          • Add and Remove Remote Objects and Fields from Data Sync
Update data sync for connected external data sources to keep up with your changing business by adding objects, removing objects, and managing which fields are synced. Synced data is stored in CRM Analytics as objects that can be used in recipes.
          • New Connector Version Upgrades and Considerations
The remote connectors that you use to sync data to CRM Analytics have new versions. Customers new to CRM Analytics after August 1, 2021 use only the new connector versions, while customers before August 1 can choose when to upgrade. If you choose to be an early adopter, you can switch over to the new connector versions and try them out now. During the Spring ’22 release, we plan to auto-switch customers to the new connector version when it reaches or exceeds the level of functionality and performance of the legacy connector version. We plan to finish the auto-switching during the Summer ’22 release.
