With dimension hierarchies, you drill down or roll up through hierarchical levels directly in
your reports. For example, a sales dataset includes dimensions like Product Category, Product
Subcategories, and Product Name. Date fields also have an implicit hierarchy, so you can drill
down from year to quarter, quarter to month, and month to day.
Keep these considerations in mind when working with hierarchies.
Dimension hierarchies are available only in Data 360 reports built on semantic data
models.
For sorting, levels in the hierarchy act as independent fields.
In charts based on these reports, dimension hierarchy fields behave like standard fields.
You can't drill down or roll up through the hierarchical levels directly in the chart.
