About Unmetered Tableau Next
With the Tableau Next unmetered permission, certain analytics features are available for unmetered usage, including most queries and pre-configured AI agent usage. Unmetered usage doesn’t consume credits.

Data Queries, Data Transforms, and Analytics Actions of Agentforce initiated from Tableau Next are unmetered when the interacting user has the Access includes unmetered Analytics Insights and Agentic Analytics workloads permission.
To classify a Tableau Next interaction as unmetered usage, these conditions must be met.
- The session must be tied to an identifiable user session or user action.
- The user account must have the Access includes unmetered Analytics Insights and Agentic Analytics workloads permission.
- For Data 360 queries and zero-copy services, users must have Data 360 Flex Credits. For more information, see Billing Considerations for Tableau Next.
Unmetered Usage
With the unmetered Creator, Consumer, and Unmetered User Based Access Tableau Next licenses, these categories of services and features are available for unmetered usage.

| Tableau Next Authoring | Semantic queries: This covers semantic queries generated through pre-built apps or cloud-built Lightning Web Components, for example, Marketing Cloud via Connect API. Semantic layer authoring: Analysts can run queries as part of authoring semantic models within Data 360 or Tableau Next. Developer experiences: Developers can use the Tableau Next Embedding SDK and semantic queries via the Tableau Next REST Connect API. Data Lens: Users can open a Data Lens within Tableau Next and explore it with queries run within their contexts. Query services: Direct access query services within Home, Data Cloud One, or Personal Org. Users can run dashboards, metrics, insights, and data lens queries on objects in a home or production org. Note: Uploading CSV or Excel files to a Tableau Next workspace isn’t unmetered. |

Custom Tableau Next Assets: Analysts can create and edit dashboards, visualizations, and metrics in Tableau Next. Business User Home: Explore metrics, insights, and Insight Summary in the Tableau Next business user Home.
