Bring your Redshift data into Tableau Next with the Redshift connector.
Connect to Amazon Redshift from an empty workspace
- In an empty Tableau Next workspace, click Connect to New Data.
- In the Add Data dialog, click Connectors.
- Click the name of the connector.
- Configure the connection details.
- Click Sign In.
Connect to Amazon Redshift from a populated workspace
- In a Tableau Next workspace, click Add, then click Data.
- In the Add Data dialog, click Connectors.
- Click the name of the connector.
- Configure the connection details.
- Click Sign In.
All settings require a value, unless otherwise indicated.
| Connection Name | Identifies the connections. Use a convention that lets you easily distinguish between different connections. |
| Authentication Option | Select UserName/Password or Identity Provider Based. |
| Username | For username/password authentication, enter username. |
| Password | For username/password authentication, enter password. |
| Redshift Cluster Identifier | For Identity Provider Based authentication, enter the Redshift Cluster Identifier. |
| Redshift Serverless Mode | For Identity Provider Based authentication, select Redshift Serverless Mode [need details here] |
| IAM Role Name | For Identity Provider Based authentication, enter the IAM Role Name. The IAM Role name is the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) specifying the role. |
| External ID | For Identity Provider Based authentication, enter the External ID, an auto-generated connection ID |
| Connection URL | Enter the JDBC URL of the provisioned Redshift cluster. |
| Database | Enter the name of the database. |
