Data Sources in Data 360
Data sources are ingested into or connected to Data 360 in different ways with specific requirements and steps that an admin configures before creating a data stream.
A data source can be a Salesforce connector, such as the Marketing Cloud Engagement connector or CRM connector. Salesforce connectors offer starter data bundles that pre-define objects and mappings to help you quickly set up a data stream.
Other services are available to connect data sources using SDKs and through the Ingestion API. You can also expand your data source possibilities using the MuleSoft Anypoint Connector or one of our third-party integrations. New connectors are added regularly to expand what data can be ingested into Data 360, providing more value when unifying your data.
- Salesforce Connectors for Data Cloud
In Data Cloud, you can connect to other Salesforce data sources. Many of the connectors for these data sources have a starter data bundle to help you quickly set up a data stream. A starter data bundle is a Salesforce-defined data stream definition that includes mapping to the Data Cloud DMO structure. You can also customize a bundle. Some connectors offer multiple data bundle options. - Web and Mobile App Connector
Connect your web and mobile apps to Data Cloud to collect customer engagement data. This data helps you customize messages, create automations, or support AI projects. After it’s connected, set up data streams to ingest your data into Data Cloud, allowing you to access and query this data for various uses. - Zero Copy Data Federation
The Data 360 zero copy data federation is the process of querying data from multiple, physically distinct data sources. This approch allows users to treat disparate systems as a single logical system, called a federation, while maintaining the autonomy of each system. Importantly, data federation avoids duplicating data across system boundaries. Data 360.
