Create an Access Key for Logins for B2C Commerce

For organizations using unified authentication, B2C Commerce offers an alternative form of authentication when logging into to Business Manager via external applications: WebDAV File Access, UX Studio Agent, User Login, Open Commerce API (OCAPI), and Protected Storefront Access These access keys act as a substitute for your unified authentication password. Access keys expire after a year. If you enter an access key incorrectly six times, you can't use that access key or your password to log in to that authentication scope.

  1. Click your username in the upper right corner of Business Manager.
  2. Click Manage Access Keys.
Here Enable, disable, or delete access keys. If an access key is expired or disabled, you can't use that access key or your password to log in.
  3. Generate an access key.
  4. Select a scope for your key. This determines what the key can log into.
  5. Click Download to copy your access key.
You won’t be able to access this key again after you close this screen. This is your only chance to copy the code. We recommend you keep the code in a safe place for future use.

Additionally, Business Manager users with the Manage_Users_Access_Key permission can generate, delete, and rotate access keys for other users via a Data API call. The API automates access key generation and rotation for users who primarily use in-store apps to log in to the B2C platform. Using this API, these Business Manager users no longer need to log in to Business Manager to generate or rotate access keys manually.
