Because a complex search on a large dataset requires many resources, advanced search filtering isn't intended for heavy use on a production instance. Instead, perform complex searches on a staging instance. However, inventory data in a staging instance isn't always in sync with a production instance. Keep in mind that when you run a search on your staging site, the results do not always conform with the inventory in your production environment. See Advanced Search Extended Attribute Data Types.
- In Business Manager, click App Launcher, and then select Merchant Tools | Site | Products and Catalogs | Products.
- Click Advanced.
- Enter the ID, name, or manufacturer of the product that youʼre trying to find.
-
(Optional) Under Product Classification, select values for the filters.
Variants inherit the base productʼs category assignments, unless you explicitly reassign them. If you use the Category Assignment filter, filtering for assigned products yields more results, while filtering for unassigned products yields fewer results. Search for products that aren’t assigned to a specific catalog.
-
Under Search Term, select a case-sensitive option.
You can’t select a case-sensitive option if you enabled the B2C Commerce beta search feature. See Simple Search.
-
(Optional) Under Related Information, select values for the filters.
Use these filters to find products that have or are missing images, prices, or inventory. These filters are disabled for catalogs with more than 2.4 million products or if the number of products in the largest catalog when multiplied by the number of stores is greater than 10 million.
-
(Optional) Under Extended Attributes, select the attribute, operator, and value for
product attributes you want to search for.
You can include five extended attributes of any length at a time. You can’t search for attributes of type password, HTML, text, or image. Use the Default, OR, or AND operators to specify multiple search conditions.
Option Description Default By default, conditions on the same attribute are combined using a logical OR, and conditions on different attributes use a logical AND. The default applies if you don’t make a selection. Use Default for queries such as lastName = 'Doe' AND (firstName = 'John' OR firstName = 'Jane'). OR All configured conditions are combined. Use for queries such as size = 'XXL' OR color = 'green'. AND All configured conditions are combined. Use for date range queries such as birthday > '01/01' AND birthday < '02/01'. - Under Search Results, specify how you want the result set to appear.
- Click Find.
