A categorization rule set is a set of conditions used to organize and classify
products. These conditions filter and isolate products based on specific attributes,
operators, and values, automatically assigning them to the appropriate category. This topic
applies to B2C Commerce.
Required Editions
Available in: B2C Commerce
Click App Launcher , and then selectMerchant Tools | Site | Products and Catalogs | Catalogs.
Click an ID to navigate to a catalog.
Navigate to a category and click Edit.
Open the Categorization Rules tab.
Click New.
Configure the initial parameters for the rule sets:
From the Select Locale dropdown, select a locale or leave as
default.
From the Select Site Context dropdown, select the site where you want
the product to be assigned.
Designate the category as either the classification category or primary
category for the product assigned by the rule set. See Classification vs. Primary
Category
Set a value related to the attribute you selected.
To add another rule to the set, click Add a
Condition.
Each rule set can have up to five conditions. By default, all
conditions within a rule set use AND.
To add another rule set, click Add Rule
By default, all rule sets for a given category use OR.
Save your changes.
Preview and run rule sets:
To preview the rule set, click Preview.
To manually run the rule set, click Run.
If the rule set is configured to run as a bulk job, review the results after
the bulk job runs.
