The first priority in merchandising your site is creating a catalog and category structure. Deciding this requires strategic thinking about the navigation of your storefront, along with other considerations. When your category structure is in place, you can configure your products. For information about building your category structure, see Building Your Site Structure.
- Catalogs
This topic applies to B2C Commerce. B2C Commerce stores your product data in a catalog. A catalog is a collection of the products that you sell, organized into different categories. - Categories for B2C Commerce
You create and organize categories and subcategories to organize and group products in your catalog and on your storefront. For example, an outdoors outfitter site uses Boots, Climbing Gear, and Outerwear categories to organize products on their storefront. This topic applies to B2C Commerce. - Products in B2C Commerce
Products are the items and services you sell. B2C Commerce stores all of your product data in your base product catalog. Your base product catalog can also be your storefront catalog or you can create a separate storefront catalog. You organize a catalog by categories. Categories can act as the storefront navigation to your products. For a product or service to show on your storefront, assign it to a category. Create any number of catalog, category, and product scenarios to address your business needs. This topic applies to B2C Commerce. - Recommendations in B2C Commerce
B2C Commerce enables you to implement recommendations using a variety of approaches. - Page Designer Pages
Merchants can easily create engaging pages using Page Designer. This topic applies to B2C Commerce. - Campaigns and Promotions in B2C Commerce
In the Business Manager Online Marketing module, you can create campaigns and A/B tests that act as wrappers, containing experiences that include promotions, content slots, and sorting rules. Slot configurations and sorting rules, however, don't need to be assigned to campaigns or A/B tests to take effect. Slot configurations can be scheduled outside the context of an A/B test. A default sorting rule can be set for a category in a storefront catalog outside the context of a campaign or A/B test. This topic applies to B2C Commerce. - Gift Certificates
Create gift card certificates for shoppers to use on your storefront. Shoppers can purchase a gift certificate and email it to a recipient of their choice, redeem a gift certificate as a method of payment, and check a gift certificate balance. Create gift cards, report on gift certificate statistics, and import and export gift certificates. You can also process gift cards programmatically. See B2C Commerce API documentation for more information. - Search and Navigation for B2C Commerce
B2C Commerce enables you to control how customers find your products on your own site as well as through external search engines, such as Google. - Orders in B2C Commerce
You can use Business Manager to manage many aspects of your B2C Commerce site's order processing requirements. For example, you can modify order and payment information, edit order attributes, add a note to an order record, send emails to confirm an order status, cancel an order, or export orders. - Multi-Currency Sites in B2C Commerce
The Salesforce B2C Commerce multi-currency sites feature enables you to sell products in multiple countries or regions. You use the feature so that your customers can browse products and checkout carts in their preferred purchase currencies. - Analytics
The B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards app gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes data from your realm, and configures it into logical datasets called dashboards. You can use the Reports & Dashboards portal, to review your site's sales, product, promotion, technical, traffic, and other data. Each dashboard presents analytics that help you identify trends over time. - Batch Processing in B2C Commerce
Use batch processes for certain Business Manager tasks related to catalogs, categories, customers and products.
