Enhanced Category Assignment Control in Page Designer
Page Designer now offers merchants greater flexibility when assigning landing pages to categories. Previously, assigning a page to a top-level category automatically included all sub-categories, which often required custom development to override. With this new enhancement, merchants can now choose whether to include sub-categories when creating or editing page assignments. This feature allows for more targeted and personalized customer experiences without the need for developer intervention.
Where: This feature applies to B2C Commerce.
How: In Business Manager, click App Launcher, and then select . Click New, select a page layout, and click Next.
In the Create New Page window, you can assign one or more categories to the page. Categories are shown in a hierarchical view. If you click the plus sign for a category, it selects that category and all of its subcategories, and changes their plus signs into checkmarks, indicating that they are all selected. If you click the checkmark for the category a second time, it deselects the subcatgories, and changes the category's checkmark into a minus sign, indicating that the top-level category is still selected. Clicking the minus sign for the category a third time deselects the category.
You can individually select and deselect subcategories. If a category or subcategory is already assigned to another page, you cannot assign it to your new page.
You can modify category assignments for an existing page by selecting .
