Control Proration Logic for BOGO Promotions and Bonus Products

Control Proration Logic for BOGO Promotions and Bonus Products

We have added two new preferences in Business Manager to give you more control over the proration logic for BOGO Promotions and Bonus Products. These preferences ensure consistent discount handling and proration across your promotions.

who: This feature is available to Business Manager users with permissions to update site preferences.

Why: These new preferences address the need for more flexible and consistent proration logic. They make sure that discounts and proration are handled the same across different APIs and integrations. This helps in maintaining accurate and predictable pricing for your promotions.

How: To access the new preferences, In Business Manager select The app icon | Merchant Tools | Site | Site Preferences | Order Preferences | Order Management Settings. To control how discounts and proration are handled in your promotions, activate or deactivate the "Prorate BOGO Promotions" and "Include Bonus Products in Proration" preferences.

When the proration is activated, discounts are spread across all qualifying and discounted products. If deactivated, discounts apply only to the discounted item.

The setting does not affect order-level price proration. The legacy state refers to the behavior before the 25.5 release, where different proration methods were used across various APIs and integrations. Additionally, there's an option to include bonus products in a proration. By default, bonus products with prices higher than zero are included, but merchandisers can exclude them by setting the value to "No".
