Manage Guest Access to a B2B Store

Manage Guest Access to a B2B Store

A guest is someone who isn’t logged in to your store as an authenticated customer. Depending on the level of access that you provide, guests can browse your store, add products to their cart, and place orders.

Which Salesforce Commerce Product Do I Have?

For D2C stores, person accounts must be enabled before you can enable guest access. See Enable Person Accounts for Commerce.

          Note
Note D2C sites hosted on Experience Delivery require guest access to be enabled.

If you configure your Salesforce org by using Commerce Setup Assistant and enable Person Accounts, guest access is automatically enabled when you create a store.

To prevent unauthenticated guests from browsing your store and seeing your catalog and products, you can disable guest access. Disabling guest access unassigns buyer groups from the guest buyer profile.

These steps describe how to enable guest access if you want to do so manually.

          1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
          2. Select Settings | Store, and then click Buyer Access.
          3. Under Guest Access, click Enable.
If guest access is partially or fully configured, the button is labeled Disable. To reconfigure guest access settings, click Disable and then click Enable.
          4. To let a guest log in as an authenticated user without emptying their cart, enable Preserve Guest Cart.
          5. Add entitlements and price books to the market.
          6. To set up what guests can search for, update the Field Level Security settings for the Product and Product Attribute fields.
            1. Click Setup at the top of the page, and then select Setup.
            2. In the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and select All Sites.
            3. Next to the name of your store, click Builder.
            4. To access settings, click Settings and under Guest User Profile, click the profile name link.
            5. Scroll down to Field Level Security, click Product [View], and click Edit. For all fields that you want guest users to be able to search, select Read access, and then click Save.
            6. If you’re using product variations, under Field Level Security, click Product Attribute [View], and click Edit. For all fields that you want guest users to be able to search, select Read access, and then click Save.
            7. To include products that guest customers are entitled to, rebuild the search engine. See Update the Commerce Search Index.
          7. To make sure that you’ve provided the correct level of access, preview your store as a guest.
Some settings can take a few minutes to take effect.
          8. To ensure that your guests can view product categories, Configure Default Store Navigation.
