For B2B stores created with the LWR template, if you prefer a branded URL or a URL
without my.site.com, connect your store to a domain. Connecting the store to a domain
automatically enables the Salesforce content delivery network (CDN) partner. You can use a
single custom domain for multiple Commerce stores. A Salesforce admin typically configures the
custom domain.
Note To connect your own CDN (BYO CDN) to your Commerce store, contact
Salesforce Customer Support. We’ll evaluate your request and enable BYO CDN. When you use
your own CDN, you’re responsible for managing the CDN for performance and security.
To serve your custom domain with the Salesforce CDN, your
domain name must be a subdomain of a top-level domain. For example, if your top-level domain
is example.com, your subdomain is something like store.example.com. Your top-level domain is
registered and hosted externally from Salesforce. You can’t use the same domain name across
multiple organizations. If you delete a domain name from one organization and plan on
reusing it in another, wait at least 48 hours between deleting the domain name and adding it
back in. Avoid making changes to your domain options before the previous changes have been
fully processed. Processing typically takes 2-3 days.
If you choose to use the system-managed .my.site.com URL provided by Salesforce, you can upload
files up to 128MB in size per file. If you create a custom domain, you can upload files up
to 500MB in size per file.
Note A CDN isn’t required for sandbox stores, stores created in Developer
Edition, or B2B stores created with an Aura template. Although a custom domain and
corresponding CDN are optional for a B2B store created with an Aura template, we recommend
them if broad access and high security are required.
