Create a Product Bundle for a Commerce Store

Create a Product Bundle for a Commerce Store

A product bundle is a collection of complementary products purchased under one SKU. The bundle’s parent product and child products are shown together on the product page under one price. The bundled products become one product. For example, you create the “Work From Home Desktop Bundle” with a desktop monitor, keyboard, mouse, and monitor stand as the child products. The “Work From Home Desktop Bundle” is the bundle’s parent product. You set the price for the bundle at the parent level and price the “Work From Home Desktop Bundle” at $199.99 even though the individual child products are sold separately: desktop monitor priced at $129.99; keyboard priced at $39.99; mouse priced at $15.99; and monitor stand priced at $29.99. The “Work From Home Desktop Bundle” displays all of the individual child products to shoppers under the price of the bundle’s parent product.

          Note
Note The following tasks assume your store has the Child Components related list added to the Product page layout and a product relationship type created for product bundles. Most B2B stores already have these prerequisite tasks set up. However, if you run into issues configuring your bundle, see Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.

          Create a Product Bundle

          1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
          2. Select Merchandising | Products.
          3. From the Product Workspace dropdown menu, select New Product Bundle or Set.
          4. For Product Type, select Bundle.
          5. Enter the product details.
            1. Name the product bundle.
            2. (Optional) Select the product family that the product bundle belongs to.
            3. Enter a product SKU.
            4. To make the product bundle available in your store, select Active.
            5. (Optional) Enter a product code.
            6. (Optional) Enter a product description.
            7. Save your changes.
After you save your changes, you’ll be directed to the new product bundle’s record page to configure it.

          Configure a Product Bundle

          1. In the Product Workspace, select the product bundle that you want to configure. Or if you just created your bundle, skip to the next step.
          2. Add child products to the bundle. Search results on the child components related list ignores applied filters. To view all search results after a search query, make sure to clear any applied filters before you click View All.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Child Components section, click Add.
If you don’t see the Child Components section, add it to the Product page layout. See Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.
            2. Select the child products, and click Next.
            3. Set the quantity for each child product.
            4. For Product Relationship Type, select Bundle to Bundle Component Relationship. If you don’t see the bundle product relationship type, See Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.
            5. (Optional) Enter in which order each child product displays.
            6. Save your changes.
          3. Assign categories.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Categories section, click Assign.
            2. Select the category, and save your changes.
          4. Assign one or more entitlement policies.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Commerce Entitlement Policies section, click Assign.
            2. Select the policy, and save your changes.
          5. Add pricing.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Price Books section, click New.
            2. For Price Book, select your store’s standard price book.
            3. Enter a list price.
            4. (Optional) Select a currency.
            5. Save your changes.
          6. (Optional) Edit the child product settings.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Child Components section, select the child product and click Edit.
            2. For Quantity Scaling Method, select Proportional.
This setting ensures that the quantity for child products proportionally adjusts when the bundle quantity changes. For example, if you set a child product’s quantity to 2 and increase the bundle quantity from 1 to 2, the child product’s quantity increases to 4.
            3. Select Price includes component.
This setting ensures that the price of the child product isn't listed with the bundle.
            4. (Optional) Adjust the quantity of the child product.
            5. Save your changes.
          7. Add images to the products from the Media tab.
