Create a Product Set for a Commerce Store

Create a Product Set for a Commerce Store

A product set is a collection of related products displayed together on the product page. Each child product is priced separately. A product set doesn’t have its own price. A shopper can add all the products to the cart in a single operation or selectively add individual products. For example, you create the “Work From Home” product set that includes a desktop monitor, laptop stand, wireless mouse, keyboard, standing desk, and office chair. The product set displays all of these products together on your store, but each product is priced separately. Customers can select which products they want to add to the cart or add the whole set, but purchasing all of the products in the set doesn’t afford your customers any savings.

Which Salesforce Commerce Product Do I Have?

          Note
Note The following tasks assume your store has the Child Components related list added to the Product page layout and a product relationship type created for product sets. Most B2B stores already have these prerequisite tasks set up. However, if you run into issues configuring your set, see Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.

          Create a Product Set

          1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
          2. Select Merchandising | Products.
          3. From the Product Workspace dropdown menu, select New Product Bundle or Set.
          4. For Product Type, select Set.
          5. Enter the product details.
            1. Name the product set.
            2. (Optional) Select the product family that the product set belongs to.
            3. (Optional) Enter a product SKU.
Child products require a SKU, but the product set doesn’t.
            4. To make the product set available in your store, select Active.
            5. (Optional) Enter a product code.
            6. (Optional) Enter a product description.
          6. Save your changes.

          Configure a Product Set

          1. In the Product Workspace, select the product set that you want to configure. Or if you just created your set, skip to the next step.
          2. Assign one or more entitlement policies.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Commerce Entitlement Policies section, click Assign.
            2. Select the policy, and save your changes.
          3. Assign categories.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Categories section, click Assign.
            2. Select the category, and save your changes.
          4. Add child products to the product set. Search results on the child components related list ignores applied filters. To view all search results after a search query, make sure to clear any applied filters before you click View All.
            1. On the Related tab, in the Child Components section, click Add.
If you don’t see the Child Components section, add it to the Product page layout. See Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.
            2. Select the products that you want to add to the product set, and click Next.
            3. For each child product, specify a sequence and quantity.
The sequence determines the order that the child product is displayed in the product set. When the product set is shown on a product page, the quantity is the amount that a customer can order for the child product.
            4. For Product Relationship Type, select Set to Set Component Relationship.
If you don’t see the set product type, create the set to set component relationship type. See Prepare Your Commerce Store to Sell Product Bundles and Sets.
            5. Save your changes.
          5. Add images to the product set from the Media tab.
