Increase Cart Size Limits for a B2B Store

Increase Cart Size Limits for a B2B Store

Most stores limit cart size to 500 line items per order. However, if your B2B store requires a higher limit, you can enable support to process up to 2,000 line items per order. To increase your line item limit, contact Customer Support.

          Enable Promotion Support

Make sure to enable promotion support for large carts. Otherwise, promotions aren’t evaluated for carts with a total quantity of more than 10,000. To request promotion support for large carts, contact your Salesforce Administrator.

          Understand Changes to Promotion Functionality

After you enable promotion support for large carts, promotions ignore quantity limits on discounts, which can impact certain promotion scenarios. Here are some examples.

          • Total Fixed Price discounts–When you create a Total Fixed Price discount, you set a quantity limit to offer a select number of items for a specific reduced rate. For example, you offer three shirts for $50. Because the promotion evaluator ignores quantity limits for large carts, Total Fixed Price promotions sometimes result in either no discount or a larger discount than expected. If you enable promotion support for large carts, we recommend not using Total Fixed Price discounts.
          • Percent Off, Fixed Amount Off Unit, and Fixed Price discounts–Quantity limits are ignored, so discounts apply to all items that meet the conditions. For example, you offer a 10% discount on an item priced at $10, but limit the quantity to one. If a customer adds a quantity of 10 for this item, the result is a $10 discount.
          • Buy 1, Get 1–Because quantity is ignored on a line item, a line item counts as only one qualifying item. Therefore, two items with the same SKU don’t qualify for a “Buy 1, Get 1” promotion. Instead, consider creating promotions for “Buy X, Get Y.”
