Influence Product Positioning with Commerce Merchandising Rules

The ability to get the right products in front of your customers can reduce store abandonment and increase site conversion rates. Use merchandising rules to gain more control over the positioning of products in search results and category pages on your B2B Commerce store.

          • Create Boost and Bury Rules
A strategic management of product listings in B2B ensures that shoppers see the most relevant products first. Use boost and bury rules to align your search results and category pages with your business goals, like stock management, new product promotions, or selling high-value products.
          • Preview Merchandising Rules
After you create merchandising rules for your B2B Commerce store, such as boost or bury rules, you can preview how the rules affect product positioning. Access the Preview screen from the Rules workspace.
          • Assign Weights to Searchable Product Fields
Assign weights to searchable product fields such as Name, SKU, and Brand to prioritize high-value matches in search results. By assigning weights on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest, to searchable fields, you can control which fields carry the most influence in search rankings. By assigning weights to standard and custom searchable fields, product attributes, and category fields, you can influence ranking behavior without requiring backend engineering or AI intervention.
