          2. Select a target type to specify what you want to apply the discount to.
            • Product—Apply a discount to individual products. You can discount up to 25 products. You can discount all variations or later use variation attributes to restrict the discount to specific variations of the variation base products.
            • Category—Apply a discount to a set of products in a catalog. You can discount up to 25 categories. You can discount all variations or later use variation attributes to restrict the discount to specific variations of the variation base products.
            • Transaction—Apply a discount to the total order amount.
            • Shipping—Apply a discount to all shipping methods on the order. A shipping promotion is applied to all the shipping methods that the customer is eligible for. To use a shipping promotion, your store must have the Cart Calculate API enabled. See Enable and Disable the Cart Calculate API for a Webstore.
            • Shipping Rate—Apply a discount to an individual shipping method on the order. You can discount up to 25 shipping rates. To use a shipping rate promotion, your store must have the Cart Calculate API enabled. See Enable and Disable the Cart Calculate API for a Webstore.
          3. Select an adjustment type to specify which method to use for the discount.
            • Fixed Amount Off Line Item Total—Deducts an amount off a product or cost shipping line item.
            • Fixed Amount Off Transaction—Deducts a monetary amount off the entire product amount for a transaction. This option is available only when you use the Transaction target type.

            • Fixed Price—Specifies a promotional price for a product, product category, shipping, or shipping rate.
            • Percentage Discount—Deducts a specified percent from the price of a product, product category, transaction, shipping, or shipping rate.
            • Total Fixed Price—Specifies a promotional price for a set of products or product categories.
            • Bonus Product—Specifies a bonus product to add to an order at no additional cost. You can target only one simple or variation product. The product can be purchasable or non-purchasable.
          4. Enter the amount of the adjustment.
If you enter a monetary amount and your account is multicurrency, choose a currency.
          5. (Optional) Enter a quantity limit to restrict the number of products that can receive the discount.
The default is unlimited. You can’t set a quantity limit for shipping or shipping rates.
          6. (Optional) To require that a minimum number of items be purchased to qualify, select Minimum Items.
If Minimum Items isn’t selected, the promotion is applied until the specified quantity limit is reached.
          7. (Optional) To add more conditions to the discount, select Apply Rules.
You can’t apply rules for shipping or shipping rates.
            • Any Condition Is Met—The promotion is applied if any condition is met. For instance, to create a discount for shoes or pants, add two discount target types with the respective targets. If the customer’s cart has either shoes or pants, the discount is applied.
            • All Conditions Are Met—The promotion is applied only if all conditions are met. For instance, to create a discount for shoes and pants, add two discount target types with the respective targets. If the customer’s cart has both products, the discount is applied. Adding only the shoes or pants doesn’t trigger the discount.
          8. Click Add Rule.
            • Target Type–The type of item to apply the discount to. For instance, to apply a discount to shoes, select Product as the rule’s target type. If the main target type is a parent product or a category, you can select an attribute as the rule’s target type.
            • Operator Type–The condition that determines which item within the target type is or isn’t eligible for a discount. For instance, to apply a discount to shoes, select Product as the rule’s target type, select Is as the operator type, and choose shoes as the target.
            • Target–The specific item or attribute value to apply the discount to‌. For example, if you select Product as the rule’s target type, you can enter shoes as the target. If the target type is an attribute, such as color, you can select a value, such as red, as the target.
          9. Save your work.
